Description

You get roughly one log per newspaper, and each log will burn for up to an hour. Easy to use, and ideal if you?re miles from recycling facilities. Designed and made in the UK.

Step 1: Pulping - You will need one large bucket or clean dustbin, water and an old broom handle and lots of (12 at a time) old newspapers. Half-fill the bin with water, add the newspapers, mash with the broom handle then leave for a day or two. Revisit from time to time, giving additional prods and so on until a consistent thick pulp appears.

Step 2: Log Making - Do this outside or somewhere it doesn't matter if the floor gets wet. Fill the container of your Log Maker to the brim with thick pulp. Place cage on top and squeeze down by flattening the handles. Turn the log maker over, let the water run off. Remove the cage and press out your new log.

Step 3: Drying - This is the boring bit! Place your new logs on newspaper in a well ventilated space and leave to dry. Change the newspaper they sit on daily and add these to your bin to make future logs. The logs should dry through in about a week if they are exposed to sunlight or a gentle breeze.

Step 4: Burning - Paper logs burn best when mixed in with wooden logs in your wood burner. Toast crumpets to celebrate and reward yourself and your family for all your hard work.
